Born in 1985 in Brockley, South East London. From an early age Jack learnt to meditate and this instilled in him an ability to remain not only calm under pressure but also it gave him a sense of justice and fair play. At the age of seven Jack started judo training with local martial arts legend Bill Anscombe and the Ju Tora Kwai team, this he kept up until he was 14 and reached 4/5 Dan. Bill was well known for teaching traditional judo’s “gentle approach”, a mixture of awesome fighting power yet with a respect for the opponent. During these formulative years Jack also played for Blackheath Rugby Club’s under-12 team but it was boxing that caught his eye and especially the rise of Mike Tyson. Tyson’s explosive fighting style and dedicated training technique had a lasting impact on Jack, who furthered his interested by watching footage of the ‘Manassa Mauler’ Jack Dempsey with his aggressive orthodox style and exceptional punching power. In his early twenties Jack started to train seriously, combining his early knowledge of martial arts with newer elements, such as Muay Thai. He has been with Bandogs since its inception and remains committed to self-improvement and helping others in the gym reach their potential.
